Old Clip

Me and Caleb were looking at some old video's the other day and we thought this one was pretty funny, actually Caleb was laughing uncontrollably. So we thought it was worthy to post again. Enjoy this little tale from Josh (at the time he was 5).

My Nephew

So nephew number 3 aka Jacob, Jakster, Jakey, the cob....apparently isn't so fond of me. He and his parents came over tonight and I kid you not every time I held him he SCREAMED! I tried every trick I knew and nothing, I finally passed him to his mom and in a matter of seconds he was calm and quiet. What is up with that? Obviously he needs more Auntie time, wouldn't you say...hee hee. I realize he loves his Mommy best but come on, every time I held him he was so NOT happy. I will be working on that one..... I must say though he is ADORABLE, and you can't help but love him to bits!!! Lets just pray he starts sleeping some, so his Mom and Dad can get a couple hours sleep in one night.

The good news is we played my new game that Ryan bought me for Christmas ticket 2 ride! It is so much fun you can play it online if you want to try it out at www.ticket2ridegame.com ! Although Marc came close I managed to claim victory. Ryan was not so happy with my train paths but hey a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do....

Wee College

Josh is in his third and final year of Wee College, he has learned so much. Caleb has begun his first year and is a freshman in the program. They retain so much it amazes me. I was looking for some pictures and came accross these old video's of Josh, I can't believe how much younger he looks. Caleb seems so much older then Josh did at that age. Anyhow hope you enjoy this rewind moment!

SNOW DAY!

Although we still had school today, we managed to play in the snow! Thanks to Uncle David who took us tobogganing. We had a great time, I think our jackets and snow pants are still wet. I wonder if we will be able to play again tomorrow, or if it will all be gone.....

Blood Diamond

Whoa, Ryan and I just got back from the movie theater, where we watched Blood Diamond. Again I say Whoa! That is the most intense movie I think I have ever seen. A bit too violent for my liking but yet they are trying to capture how real the violence is in Africa. I have read this is one of the best films of 2006, it definitely impacted me! It gives you a look into the bloody brutality of civil war, the corruption, the training of child soldiers, and a glimpse into how our culture impacts this devastation. I think I lead an extremely naive life, I had never heard of a "blood diamond" before. Had you? And did you know that it is up to the consumer to find out if the diamond they are purchasing is a conflict diamond!!! It really makes you think about why we would even want such a stone.

Christmas Concerts

The last Thursday before school was out was the BIG Christmas Concert Day! We went from Josh's school across the street to Caleb's preschool. A very eventful morning. Both concerts were full of cute kids and fun songs. As I was making this little video I realized why I am so inclined to make a video verses writing out the details! I can edit the video or pictures picking the best ones, most key moments as well as dictate the duration, ulitmately making it faster for me to capture the event for everyone to experience. I look at it as if I am providing the "coles notes" version for family and friends. You missed it well hey let me help you I can give the run down in less then 5 minutes without saying a word and sharing it with as many people as I want. Which leads me to think that basically Blogs are somewhat of a "coles notes" deal. You can catch up on someones life in umm, well as fast as you can read or in my case watch. How nice is that? I loved coles notes when I was in school and a matter of fact I was able to use them for every novel study I ever did, and they always served me well. I was quite happy with the b occasional b+ it would produce.
Of course now I can appreciate sitting down to read a good book and odviously life wouldn't be very exciting if we lived "coles notes" style....but non the less
welcome to the "coles notes" version of Douglas life!
